Who We Are in San Diego

Dr. Andreea Nastasoiu moved from Michigan to California to attend UC San Diego, where she fell in love with this city and received her Bachelors of Science in Social Psychology. She then moved to Boston MA and graduated with honors from the New England College of Optometry. She is passionate about providing the highest quality care and tailoring it to her patients’ individual needs, in order to improve their vision, comfort, and quality of life. With expertise in contact lenses and dry eye, she practices full scope optometry for patients of all ages.

Dr. Nastasoiu aims to give back to her community and profession by volunteering on her days off and helping coordinate events, donations and volunteers. She is on the board as a liaison between the San Diego County Optometric Society and the Lions Optometry Vision Clinic. She is also a member of the California Optometric Society and the American Optometric Society. Outside of the office, she loves adventuring with her dog and fiance, rock climbing, and stand up paddleboarding.

Meet Dr. Meredith Walton, the owner of La Mesa Optometry!

Dr. Walton is as committed to her patients as she is savvy, kind, and empathetic. She believes a personalized eye care experience is the best eye care experience.

Dr. Walton received her Doctorate in Optometry in 2011 from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Following graduation, she and her husband moved to Italy for his work in the Navy. While in Italy, Dr. Walton worked at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Naples providing eye exams for active duty military members and their families. 

Additionally, she lectured as an adjunct professor at the Italian optometry school, Universitá Frederico II, and served local communities by participating in multiple free eye care clinics throughout Europe.

While Italy was an experience of a lifetime, Dr. Walton and her husband eventually relocated to San Diego, CA. It’s here that she opened Heights Optometry in her own neighborhood of Normal Heights in the spring of 2015. 

In the summer of 2017, Dr. Walton took over ownership of North Park Optometry where she continues to help patients achieve clear, comfortable vision. With both locations seeing great success, Dr. Walton has been able to open a 3rd location, La Mesa, in 2022. 

Dr. Walton is passionate about serving her community and delivering quality care, providing thorough eye examinations, and educating her patients about the importance of routine eye health. Dr. Walton is committed to helping every patient see to the best of their ability.

She is a participating member of the national, state, and local Optometric Societies and volunteers locally to help patients with limited resources have access to eye exams and glasses. 

In her time outside of the office, Dr. Walton enjoys outdoor activities with her husband, 3 sons, and their dog. On the weekends you might find her enjoying one of the many great local restaurants San Diego has to offer, supporting community events, or participating in local charity runs.

Meet Dr. Chantelle Davis!

Dr. Davis was born and raised in San Diego. She received her Bachelor of Science from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, then spent a year living as a healthcare volunteer in Perú. She then moved to Boston to attend the New England College of Optometry, where she graduated with honors in 2018.

After receiving her Doctorate of Optometry, Dr. Davis moved back home to San Diego, where she completed a residency in primary eye care with an emphasis on ocular disease at the San Diego VA Medical Center. She is a member of the San Diego County Optometric Society, the California Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. 

Dr. Davis is fluent in Spanish and treats patients of all ages and backgrounds. She is passionate about giving back to her community, and regularly participates in and organizes optometry mission trips to other countries. 

In her free time, Dr. Davis enjoys cycling classes, cooking, and trying new restaurants with her husband.

Dr. Rachel Lee was born in the Bay Area and grew up in Reno, Nevada. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. She then moved to Southern California to attend optometry school at Western University of Health Sciences where she graduated in 2014. After she and her husband completed graduate school, they both decided to stay in beautiful San Diego.

Dr. Lee enjoys seeing patients of all ages. She is especially passionate about providing an enjoyable and fun experience for children during their first eye exam. She believes in high quality, individualized care, and loves educating her patients about their vision and eye health in an interactive way.

Dr. Lee also loves to give back to her community and also spends her time working for a local non-profit program that provides vision care for underserved preschool children. She travels to schools throughout San Diego County giving eye exams in a mobile clinic. She is a huge advocate for identifying vision related issues early on to set students up for success in their academic careers.

In her free time, you can find Dr. Lee being outdoors, hiking, trying new restaurants, rooting for the Padres, and spending time with her husband and twin toddlers.
